About the brass|STUDENT PROGRAM
The brass|STUDENT PROGRAM is an initiative to strengthen high school students' understanding of the Money Side of Life™. The Program offers print and online resources to public high school students and teachers to make money interesting and relevant in the classroom. The brass|STUDENT PROGRAM provides a wide variety of content and resources delivered through multiple media channels.
brass|MAGAZINE STUDENT EDITION: a lifestyle magazine with a money twist. The magazine is produced for young adults, by young adults, with relevant content for classroom discussions and activities. Through the Student Program, each public high school in supporting states receives classroom copies of brass.
brass|STUDENT PROGRAM WEBSITE:
The brass|SHOW: Short three to five minute videos highlighting financial topics, the brass|SHOW provides teachers and students with videos for discussion, additional research or specific financial principles to aid the student’s understanding of money.
brass|PRESENTATIONS: The Student Program offers a variety of interactive presentation opportunities to schools. These include (where available):
brass|FEEDBACK: To obtain feedback and assure the quality of the Student Program, brass|MEDIA administers a variety of feedback mechanisms to students, educators and sponsors several times a year. These include surveys, registration tracking, posts and others.
The Student Program launched in New York State in August 2006, at the request of hundreds of teachers who wanted to use brass|MAGAZINE in their classrooms. Wisconsin introduced the program in every public high school in September 2007. Oregon high schools will begin using the Student Program in Fall 2008.
